Work in Progress: October 24, 2019

I’m behind on taking stock of my writing work. I’ve been deep into revisions on the novel and still have more to go. With all the editorial feedback incorporated, it’s now twice as long. Plenty of new scenes, a few new characters, and plot threads. It’s been good to dedicate as many hours as I can sustain to the project. There’s nothing like getting deep into the writing; a luxury I won’t normally have.

Two stories are ready to go out to markets. I need to get back to the others. I have returned to poetry as a warm-up for the novel revisions. In fact, I think I will put a chapbook together related to the novel. A ‘poems inspired by’ type of thing.

I will take part in NaNoWriMo again this year. I had a full plot, characters, etc. ready but I’ve decided that project needs a rethink, and I’ve got just a week to rethink it. While finishing the current novel…
