I finally did some short story reading recently. The story that stood out most to me was The Hummingbird Temple, by C. C. Finlay at Beneath Ceaseless Skies. It was a nice change of pace, low fantasy. Low meaning low level of magic, which is my kind of fantasy. A lovely tale.
The Virtue Retreats from the Land of Snow and Sky, by Kali Wallace at 3 Lobed Burning Eye is also enjoyable. Deep worldbuilding and strong emotion.
