What peels from you like skin
that you cast to the currents
as offering?

What lasting peace can you make
from dying embers?
What do you bring bundled
from your near-forgotten
ancestors?

How far can you go
in the light of a sunlit moon?
And how should you go?
What grieves and sustains you?
