The more I read short stories the more I find myself drawn to Latin American writers. I’ve read Borges and Marquez for a long time, but recently authors such as Laura van den Berg and others have recommended Julio Cortarzar, Roberto Bolaño, and Clarice Lispecter.
Guadalupe Nettel is a contemporary Latin American writer I’m only now learning about through this interview. You can also read one of her stories here. Her story collections Natural Histories, Bezoar, and The Accidentals will likely find their way to my TBR soon.
